Hybrid Power Solutions Available for Hire Soon Euroflo is teaming up with Hybrid Power Hire. Our customers will soon be able to rent hybrid power solutions directly from Euroflo. This range offers a silent, clean, and zero carbon emission solution. The smart Battery Energy Storage Systems (B-ESS) can operate alone, or if power is needed for extended periods, in combination with one of the following power sources; wind power, solar power, diesel, HVO fuel or mains power. Capacities The smart B-ESS are available in 230V or 400V models. They output energy from 5kVA to 60kVA and offer battery capacities ranging from 1kWhrs to 90kWhrs. They can also be cascaded to create capacities of 270kWh or more! Single phase and three phase smart B-ESS are available to hire separately, or you can hire an all-in-one complete Hybrid Power System. An example of this can include the smart B-ESS along with a diesel generator, a high-capacity fuel tank, and a sophisticated remote monitoring system. Euroflo is ready for the switch from red diesel – Our pumps are already HVO fuel compatible. As part of their climate change initiative, the UK government announced it would be ending entitlements to use red diesel by April 1st 2022. This change is meant to incentivise the agricultural and construction sectors to improve the energy efficiency of their vehicles and machinery, allowing the UK to meet their 2050 goal of net zero carbon. With this change comes the need to look elsewhere for alternatives that burn cleaner, but are still easy to use and offer a similar price point. Here’s our suggestion: HVO Fuel. What is HVO Fuel? Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel, also referred to as “Green Diesel,” is a second-generation biofuel, meaning it’s produced from plant and animal waste. Hydrogen is used as a catalyst to remove the oxygen molecules from the fats in the oil, creating a diesel alternative without the use of fossil fuels. It is considered a drop-in alternative, meaning it can be used in existing tanks without any retrofitting costs. It is completely compatible with existing fuel logistics and can be blended at high percentages with traditional mineral diesel.
Arranging Your Pump Correctly Despite the simplicity of plug and play pumps, there are a few important precautions that one must consider in order to optimise the effectiveness of the pumping application. Arrange the pump so that it doesn’t burrow itself into sand or clay. The burrowing of a submersible pump is a common problem that occurs on construction sites. Burrowing can be avoided by placing the pump on a bed of coarse gravel or on a wooden plank. The pump can also be hung freely by a rope or chain, or put into a cut-down and perforated oil drum. Alternatively, a pontoon or floatation device can be used. Avoid sharp bends on the hose Any sharp bends, kinks or pinching of the hose reduces the capacity of the pump. Avoiding any hose anomalies can dramatically increase the efficiency of the pumping application. Grindex submersible pumps have a rotatable discharge connection.
